Our R&D programmes

The overall programme is divided into 3 key themes, each addressing a broad family of key scientific and operational issues for urban energy transition and converging upon a cross-disciplinary project to identify a performance-oriented approach.

District management and instrumentation

Based on the emergence of an urban Internet of Things and the increasingly widespread use of multi-phenomena instrumentation, Efficacity is developing innovative approaches to real-time district monitoring to measure and monitor performance and quality of use and, ultimately, to provide for more effective management of local systems.

Urban project performance evaluation

Efficacity capitalises on all its knowhow to accelerate the emergence of a new culture of evaluation. This will provide all those involved with greater objectivity and the ability to compare different scenarios using a multi-criteria approach to the environmental and socio-economic impacts, encompassing the entire project life cycle, and based on indicators that are scientifically robust, consistent with the major international frameworks and readily mastered by those in the field.

The performance-oriented approach

Efficacity relies on its body of work to contribute to the introduction of new standardisation and labelling approaches and to the emergence of new skills and new contractual practices directed towards “performance warranties extended to district scale”.
